About us

Hope for Africa was formed in the spring of 2007 by a small group of students with a particular vision for the global community. Hope for Africa is a growing organization at the University of Mississippi that meets twice a month in order to plan/organize events to raise funds and awareness for the continent facing some of the most severe difficulties in the world—Africa. The members of our organization understand the importance of service within our own community and are active on and off campus to serve the needs within the vicinity of Oxford, Mississippi. The members of Hope for Africa understand that there are also needs in regions of the world facing severe destitution and therefore are on a mission to serve those who lack even the basic necessities of life. From benefit concerts here to livestock projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, from raising awareness on campus to supporting the education of orphans in Uganda, we are committed to playing our part in the global fight against all that derives from extreme poverty.
